Never What I'd Expect

Dear readers, I have influenza. I am vilely ill, the children are catching it, today is my birthday (and the spouse's), and my mother is still out of the country.

The weirdest part, however, is the intermittent auditory hallucinations. (They started before the antivirals, so I can only conclude that viruses are weird.)

    1. Thanks. I'm currently at the stage where one remembers that yes, flu pandemics kill people. Thank all the little gods for modern medicine, without which I might, in truth, not have survived this one.

Oh no! We've just come off the back of a week in which myself, my husband and our two small children all got the flu. I'm not sure I ever had it before, but it was awful. Still exhausted 9 days later :( I hope you get better soon!

    1. Oy gevalt! It sure is miserable, isn't it? I had it twice before, in vaccine shortage years. It's pretty unmistakable after that. (The spouse mansplained to me that I did NOT have influenza and if I'd been able to stand up, I'd have murdered him.)
