Sad. Maybe lonely. Also out of processing cycles due to scheduling and arranging and managing and making sure there's something for dinner every night. Having a cold all the time both makes me feel depressed - I think it's some combination of not sleeping as well, being in pain, and echoes of fear surrounding being in pain.
Many ergs of mental energy are being used on real estate at the moment. There are both too many choices, and not enough uncomplicated choices.
Right now, my spouse is much occupied with other things. Marriage is a partnership, and heaven knows I have been on the other side of the neediness seesaw (see also: those two years of being sick, pregnant, sick of being pregnant, or pregnant and sick). Still: something to be endured.

Once More
It is winter in the Frozen North. (Snurfle. Snurflesnurfle. AAAAAchoo.) It is too cold outside for munchkins. We have taken to a daily KICKABALL (as Bug calls it) extravaganza in the basement before dinner. Oh, summer, how I long for thee.
Also: why, whenever it snows more than two inches in Philly, people think they can't go out? I have a friend there who proclaims regularly that they are trapped! and cannot! drive! anywhere! People! Learn to drive in the snow. (Slowly, without any sudden movements.) Your car will slide about, no matter how careful you are; I rear-ended the diaper service van a few weeks ago. At a stoplight, going about 2 mph over ice, and then wham. But Philly is not the South; it snows. GET USED TO IT.
In other news, my brother-in-law has given Bug a two-foot-long bulldozer. He cries every night, because we do not let it have dinner with him.

Friday Photos (a little early): The Boring Life of a Housewife
[Dear readers: please tell me what I want for Christmas. From my sweet husband. Sparkly things? A new teapot? Help.]
We went to my parents' house for Thanksgiving. I bring back photographic evidence of how spoiled the dog is:

Spoiled rotten, but very, very happy.
Upon returning to Cold Utopia, we resolved that, because my ever-expanding waistline, here at 24w:

makes it increasingly difficult to put on my beautiful, waterproof, insulated Red Wings,
I have replaced them:

with this gorgeous pair of boots.
Likewise, pursuant to the fact that it will continue to look like this:

out my window until May or further notice, whichever comes first,
I have felted and recycled a sweater into this stylish yet warm hat:

and invested in yet another kind of foot gear.

My shoes may not be as sparkly as Dr. Isis's Naughty Monkeys, but Naughty Monkeys don't come in wide sizes.
On a totally unrelated note, as I am shortly to be employed, I have been furiously sewing baby gear:

such as this very frou-frou changing pad. (Vinyl laminates if you iron it on a very hot setting!).
On an equally unrelated note, these horrible nasty buggy things:

are infesting my citrus tree and I must kill them all dead. What on earth ARE THEY??? (Updated: They are citrus mealybugs. DIE DIE DIE.)
