We interrupt our regularly scheduled kvetching to say that Sweetpea may have chickenpox. Which, if she does, she caught from another vaccinated (older) child, who caught it from the huge pool of unvaccinated fundamentalists, tea party-ers, and ex-Californians in the area.
I would like her to go cough on all their children.
(Mostly I'm pissed because with PINKEYE and MF-ing Christmas and this, that will make five weeks of being confined to my fucking house. If there's ever a measles outbreak I'm decamping for another state. More contagious than Ebola!)
Oh, honey. A pox on all the unvaccinated children in your area!
ReplyDeleteLITERALLY.
DeleteOh that sucks. I cannot even begin to imagine the wall-crawling insanity that five weeks confined to barracks would induce. Go and cough on some unvaccinated people.
ReplyDeleteSO! Now it looks like it may be just a rash. Praise FSM. We're going to go play with the kid who had chicken pox (now fully recovered) just in case, because he won't catch it *again*! Also... I may have gone to the gym. Because the three weeks so far have been QUITE enough.
DeleteWHEW
DeleteThank goodness it was a rash and no the pox (though pox on unvaccinated adults everywhere)
ReplyDeleteI've been spending more time than usual around my children lately, and BOY do I feel for you. Really glad it was not (we hope) chicken pox this time. I hope you got some time to yourself.
ReplyDeleteRash appears to be gone! School starts Monday! No chicken pox so far!
DeleteI did have a nice walk with another mom this morning. And then Tatoe took a dumo in his underwear, sat in it for three hours, and threw a fit for two more. Kids!
