Pants

All I want is two pairs of normal-looking jeans.  Not green.  Not 'ankle cropped', which, with normal shoes, look like they shrunk in the wash, or one accidentally bought the petite size, or something.  Not Mom Jeans up to my lowest rib (hello, LL Bean!).  Not 'curvy boot-cut' weird shaped ones.  Not with bizarre 'weathering' details.  Not in acid-washed white (hello, 1982!).  Not made of super-flimsy twill that will shred in the wash (hello, Old Navy!). Also not costing an arm and a leg.

Naturally, I can't find a pair under $100.

I just found a pair at Loft. "Modern Straight" is the cut, a good length, on sale, comfy, and in dark color.

    1. They ARE on sale! Thanks, have ordered several in a couple sizes and will take back the ones that don't fit. :) I know it's kind of terrible, but retail is pretty much my vision of hell, and retail with two small, mobile children... well.

    2. oh, piffle, ordered some and they ARE that flimsy twill (like a 6 oz fabric) rather than heavy denim (10+ oz). and I ordered te size their size chart said AND a size down and they're 2+ sizes too big. bah.

  2. My very favorite pair of Calvin Klein jeans came from a second-hand store (Clothes Mentor) and were several years old...so they were made when jeans could just be "jeans." (Unfortunately, they got left in the dryer with a few purple and pink crayons!)

    What about Old Navy?

    1. I found that in addition to being flimsy, they only come in skinny and extra-flared-boot cut. GACK!

  4. Are the dark rinse Old Navy jeans any thicker? Or, is there any way you fit into men's jeans, since some brand you got for Dr. Scientist was thick and well-made? Shopping for jeans is the worst, and completely impossible with small children.

    1. Great minds! I in fact just ordered some from Levi's, we'll see how they are. Don't know about the 'dark rinse' ones (also, skinny jeans ICK!) but might have to step into an actual store to find out...
