We are off this week to Dr. S's brother's wedding. It comes complete with years of seething, low-grade resentment towards my in-laws, the inevitable argument, 10 hours in a car with an 18-month-old, four Chinese in-laws-to-be who speak not a word of English, and a 96-year-old crotchety, racist grandmother. I can't wait.
Sounds like the makings of a great movie! Too bad it's real life
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it though?
ReplyDeleteGood times! I remember when I got married, some relatives were whispering amongst themselves about the legality of our union, seeing as the wedding was not in a church. Good times all around!
ReplyDeleteHow can this not have resulted in a dozen hilarious posts???????
ReplyDelete@SM: Yes, well, it would have, but I try not to write about my in-laws too much. I might NEVER STOP. There was only one ER trip, my in-laws only made a LOT of really racist comments, and so on... but you know what? I really like my sister-in-law and it was a nice wedding in spite of everything.
